The Wesean Naga Students Union calls for unity among all Naga communities...
Dear People of Nagaland,
In light of the ongoing civil war in Myanmar, thousands of people, including our fellow Nagas, are fleeing their homeland to escape the relentless violence and atrocities committed by the military junta. As neighbors and members of the same ethnic family, it is our moral duty to extend our hands and hearts to those in desperate need of safety and refuge.
Since the military coup in February 2021, Myanmar has been engulfed in a brutal civil war. The situation has deteriorated drastically, with reports of widespread human rights abuses, including arbitrary arrests, extrajudicial killings, and the burning of villages. The conflict has forced many, especially from the Naga communities in Myanmar, to seek refuge across the border in India, including in Nagaland.
The Nagas from Myanmar are facing severe hardships. Many of them have lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones. They are in urgent need of shelter, food, medical aid, and psychological support. Camps in Manipur and other neighboring states are already overwhelmed, and misinformation about the situation is rampant, exacerbating the Nagas' plight.

The crisis in Myanmar is a stark reminder of the fragility of peace and the strength of human solidarity. As we continue to pray for an end to the conflict and a restoration of democracy in Myanmar, let us also act in ways that reflect our shared humanity. By coming together to support the Nagas from Myanmar, we reaffirm our commitment to the values of compassion, unity, and justice.
Let us rise to the occasion and show the world the true spirit of Nagaland.
Sincerely,
